How I can help

My professional background

I've worked as a transactional lawyer for the last decade. I have experience advising on all aspects of business development, from concept through ongoing operation. I enjoy finding creative approaches, and collaborating to identify solutions.

How to work with me

What I can offer

While I cannot act as your lawyer, I'd be delighted to advise on different components of starting and managing a business. Most of my work with mentees in this program has focused on (a) identifying and mitigating business risks and (b) identifying and leveraging a business's strengths and weaknesses.

As you look into specific legal issues, I'd recommend hiring legal counsel for several reasons. The lawyer-client relationship is privileged, meaning that you can discuss private matters with the confidence that they'll remain private. The lawyer you select should have specific expertise in your field, allowing him or her to give specific advice on your questions and provide guidance on how other clients have solved similar problems before. That lawyer should also be familiar with relevant regulations, which can vary based on the industry and the state or country.

My expectations for a successful mentoring relationship

I want to help you think through the opportunities and risks of your business, and move forward with a clear idea of your business's key strengths and areas for improvement.

How entrepreneurs can prepare before we start

As a starting point, think about the ways that his or her background or business is exceptional: what will disrupt or out-compete existing businesses.
