How I can help
My professional background
Owned several businesses, one legendary--then was certified advisor for the Small Business Development Center under the leadership of Martin Schwartz where after 9/11 we were the finest limited staff and payroll in the State. We also established a state recognized veteran Training program for those incarcerated, and with Mr. Schwartz hospitalized with life threatening issues, we did this based on my efforts and John Blohm along with a great office manager--Rosemary Sleap. I never learned to accept politics as a financial means to an end after Marty was forced to step down refusing to abuse funding....I still work alongside several with C.U.B.E.D.--when I feel a business can be helped, and prior to moving was an unofficial business adviser for SINFI an arm of City Harvest where Susan Fowler was my boss.
How to work with me
What I can offer
Thinking Inside the Box -- build success, then grow outside. We taught the importance of business plans and mandated to assist all, and i include in that proper funding if needed--I love working with the minority groups in business.
My expectations for a successful mentoring relationship
Not available until September and still on call as i teach a bit of Racquetball, Pickle Ball and Pinochle
How entrepreneurs can prepare before we start
I would advise many when they a said the reason why they failed is due to a lack of capital--my answer is always--they failed because they were unprepared. My past has taken bankruptcy and made them into fortune 500 independents and am the creator of the Stuffed Pretzel, which was not as impressive as it sounds, but thankfully the idea was sold.
