I am an experienced software developer, information technology professional, and program manager with 30 years of experience in the technology industry. I have a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from the University of Connecticut. I spent nearly 20 years as a consultant delivering software development, system engineering, information technology, and business process solutions to Fortune 500 companies (most notably Disney, JP Morgan Chase, and Citicorp). I then spent 8 years at Disney/ESPN as a program manager and architect, focusing on information technology systems and processes. Most recently I've been involved with a prospective technology startup, as a co-owner providing both technical and business expertise. I hold the following certifications: PMP, CSM, and ITIL v3 Foundations.
How to work with me
What I can offer
I can draw from my 35 years of experience as a program manager, software developer, and system engineer. I have a quite a varied history over those years including 6 years with a small engineering company, 17 years as owner of a small consulting company serving fortune 500 companies, 8 years with a large multinational company (Disney/ESPN), and 3 years attempting to launch a startup company. I also have the academic background (Engineering BS with an MBA) and professional certifications (PMP, CSM, and ITIL v3 Foundations) to support my professional experience.
My expectations for a successful mentoring relationship
A successful mentoring relationship is one where not only the entrepreneur benefits from my experience and expertise, but where I also gain knowledge and new insights from the entrepreneur's endeavors.
How entrepreneurs can prepare before we start
The entrepreneur should identify the areas they are looking for guidance in, and also have defined the objectives they want to achieve from the mentoring relationship. These items could be modified as the mentoring relationship develops, but they should be documented as a starting point before the relationship begins.
