My background as an entrepreneur

My current challenges

Most of my prior experience has dealt with scaling up companies from the $300k to $1 Mil ranges up to the next major milestone. In other words, my skill set has revolved around being able to take something that already exists at a certain level, systematize it, control it and make it better to scale.

However, going from $0 in the bank to the $300k level is an entirely different ball game, and has been a heck of a trial and error process.

End of year 1: Gross $28k, Net: $11k (including personal expense, number drops to $2k) End of year 2: Projected (based on current contract values only): $51k gross, Net after taxes: $36k, (including personal expense, number drops to $17k after tax). Growth achieved by pursuing higher value contracts and less 'cash-flow' projects.

Mentor Help with legal structure advice, timing, scaling up to $300k (I've maxed out my current time commitment, but must keep lead flow coming), how to optimize health insurance, savings, minimize tax are primary concern

Technology enables SMBs to grow and thrive like never before. Problem is, most SMBs are overwhelmed by options and lack the know-how to ask the right questions to get the answer they want, much less leverage tech to scale. After a decade spent in web dev, cold calling sales and SMB PMing I noticed a key thing: most business owners are more than willing to invest in ways to scale their business, but they're simply overwhelmed by the options and all the technical nitty-gritty of using it. What most are "sold" are ads, hardware or software, hoping that will fix the problem, but what they need are systems to reliably implement what they've invested in and expert help to lessen the learning curve.
