My background as an entrepreneur

My current challenges

I'm not sure what kind of licenses or permits are necessary to run a food truck, or the steps to start up a business. I also am not sure what state/local laws and regulations there are concerning what foods can be prepared on a food truck. I have not thought of a name I like and can stick with

Actions I’ve taken so far

I am taking the Entrepreneurial Boot Camp through the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce for the Spring session. I have done a bit of research, but I'm not sure where to look for some answers. I have 20+ years of food handling and management experience through my career in the fast food restaurant industry.

My future goals

I would like to be ready to launch my business by summer when most festivals and functions are happening.

I am hoping that a mentor may have knowledge of where I can look to find the answers I need and help to guide me to successfully launching my business.


About my venture

I am in the idea stage of starting my own food truck business. I aim to provide delicious food and great service to all of our customers at various locations. I intend to attend festivals, small fairs, and functions as a delicious food option for hungry customers. I will serve several kinds of sandwiches and sides that can be combined into meals that are more affordable than our competition. When I am not attending events, I would like to possibly provide a pre-ordered, delivered breakfast or lunch service to interested businesses.
