I would prefer to work out of an actual brick-and-mortar studio. (Right now clients either come to my home, or I go to theirs.) The problem for me has always been finding an effective yet affordable location. Speaking of "affordable," I don't even know what constitutes rent that is "too high" or "about right." Even if I found it, I would need help securing funds (AKA loans or grants) to get enough to cover my rent until I have a steady amount of clients. Lastly, I'm worried about determining a good price for my services. I have something set up right now, but I always wonder if I am striking a balance between something that will be fair for the client to pay, versus one where I am basically ripping myself off.
Actions I’ve taken so far
I have a website set up, as well as my presence on several social media platforms. Right now I am focusing on Tik Tok and Instagram as my main platforms. (These seem to be the best ones for the modern era, where people's attention spans have shrank dramatically.) I also have had an image created that could be used on business cards, fliers, or postcards.
My future goals
I want to have a physical studio someday, and I would like to be able to retire from my day job and do this full-time.
My motivations to work with a mentor
I want to work with a mentor to shore up the business areas where I have indicated I am weakest.
About my venture
Capital District High Intensity Resistance Training
I teach a method of exercise called High Intensity Resistance Training (HIRT going forward). It is unlike anything anyone else in this area teaches. Most people are pushing 5 days per week, an hour at a time. People don't have time for that. HIRT is time-efficient, safe, and effective. Even senior citizens and people with bone/joint issues can do this workout.
