Marketing and sales are not my personal strong suit. I could use some guidance on how to best develop a marketing strategy that suits my target clients. The challenge within my consulting field is that my target customers (ie: small to mid-sized companies) typically resist change and/or are too proud of what they have developed that they struggle to see the opportunity/need for change.
Actions I’ve taken so far
I currently have an Ascent OpEx website and LinkedIn profile (I am working with another resource to revamp this). Most of my activity to date has been networking 1) with peer organizations as a 3rd party resource; 2) within my professional peer group and 3) very limited cold-calling.
My future goals
I will be joining (2) local chambers of commerce and networking within those organizations and developing marketing content (ex: topical vlog, process/team event examples, etc). Because the chambers are most often heavily skewed to service industries (banks, restaurants, lawyers, etc) I am testing interest in starting up an operations/manufacturing based collaborative.
My motivations to work with a mentor
Although I have peers in the industry that I can talk with, I would like an independent resource that understands the consulting space and would be available for sound boarding ideas, issues, etc.
About my venture
