What I need help with
My background as an entrepreneur
My current challenges
I have done extensive searches on Amazon, Google, Home Depot, Lowes and through the patent office and there is nothing at all similar to the Hardware Holder and Screw Saver. There is however a screwdriver maker called the Screw Saver. The patent attorneys are currently looking into any conflicts with the name. The only realistic competition is the ability, creativity, and ingenuity of individuals to use Ziploc bags, masking or packing tape, or similar products to duplicate the same outcome. My challenge is to be able to convince investors and ultimately the consumer through marketing that the Hardware Holder and Screw Saver is a better and more cost-effective alternative.
Actions I’ve taken so far
Both the Hardware Holder and Screw Saver are still in design and in pre-production. We are currently designing and testing various raw materials and sizes for both products. Considering processes materials, packaging and ultimately marketing and distribution to determine acceptable pricing. A patent search has been completed and there are no similar products available on the market today. Patent applications have prepared and are ready to filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
My future goals
My future goals consist of successfully running the business and eventually creating more creative ways to make home improvement work easier.
My motivations to work with a mentor
I want to work with a mentor(s) so I may get other opinions on my product. I would also like assistance on how I could do better.
About my venture
Hardware Holder and Screw Saver
Have you ever taken apart a small appliance or even a small project you were working on with several parts? What did you do with all the pieces? If you are like most people, you put them in a Ziploc bag or a small dish and most likely lost the pieces. If you’re creative person, you took the pieces and taped them to the larger pieces. While moving the items to a new location, the tape most likely fell off and you ended up loosing a few pieces of hardware. The Hardware Holder solves this problem and creates an excellent solution. A heavy-duty plastic bag with a zipper closure and secure Velcro strip. The bag comes in multiple dimensions to accommodate different sizes and quantities of Hardware like screws, nuts and even bolts. When you take apart the pieces, then you put all the small loose pieces in the appropriate Hardware Holder and attach it to the location of where the pieces came from using the Velcro strip.
