What I need help with

My background as an entrepreneur

My current challenges

Deciding how to begin this venture before the physical location is available. I want this to be a success and would like to understand the financials behind running a successful business. I have experience running a location, training employees, creating menus, but I have not had ANY hands-on bookkeeping or profit margin experience. This concerns me the most!

Actions I’ve taken so far

I have registered the name SupperBox, I possess an EIN number and a sales tax certificate. I also have insurance coverage for my business. I have a logo (somewhat) and a look/feel. My social media is established and have a few followers. I have sold and delivered salads to friends, family and neighbors in my community and have received awesome feedback and extremely loyal customers. I am having trouble figuring out what to do next, because we will not be solely a delivery service... but a local cafe.

My future goals

To gain an interest in my services here in my community. To develop a strategy that will allow me to get samples out to my community and build social media following with local feedback. To develop a tracker for all incoming and outgoing purchases. To create an online ordering site for customers. Get familiar with local farms and markets and create relationships and partnerships. Officially record 100% complete recipes for future training. Get a clear idea of the availability of location I have my heart set on.

My motivations to work with a mentor

To help mold me into a confident entrepreneur. To talk to someone about my ideas and help me organize them into very achievable goals. To help guide me in financial planning and confidence. To get advice from someone who has been there done that and conquered! I am very teachable and eager to listen and learn. A mentor for me would be a great help with this very terrifying and completely exciting journey that I am 100% dedicated to!

About my venture

SupperBox Started 2021

SupperBox is our brand. The Harvest cafe by SupperBox is a small local community cafe that serves fresh and delicious seasonal gourmet salads. We deliver locally for free during lunch hours and have a loyalty program for repeat customers. We serve salads in two sizes, our Harvest size and Jr. Harvest size for the kiddos or those who are looking for a salad that would not be considered a meal. What makes us stand out? We have developed a menu that is not only good for the body, but satisfying to the tastebuds with cultural flavors such as Caribbean flavors, Asian flavors, Latin flavors and Mediterranean flavors. We prepare everything from scratch, down to the dressings. We have a spring/summer menu and a fall/winter menu to stay in touch with what is seasonally available. We also serve specialty lemonades during the spring and summer months and hearty seasonal soups during the fall and winter. We partner with local farms and markets to deliver the best quality to our customers. We believe in supporting our community and desire to be our residents #1 source for fresh salads.
