What I need help with

My background as an entrepreneur

My current challenges

My biggest current challenge is having all the time necessary to carefully plan all of the facets of running a business while I am also focusing on organizing and expanding all of the gardening trade information I need to know.

Actions I’ve taken so far

I have determined my business name, set up a domain, prepared a Facebook post to do a soft launch, and begun to take the classes with the Women's Enterprise Development Center. I am about to embark on writing a business plan, figuring out my break even numbers, and attempting to set realistic financial goals.

My future goals

My future goal is to grow my company to the level that I am able to make enough profit to live a modest but comfortable life and be able to save a bit for my future. I am not at all afraid to work very hard, but after a few years I don't want to feel like running my rules my whole life. My goals also include having a few employees who are well-trained, enjoy their work, and who feel like they are well compensated and appreciated.

My motivations to work with a mentor

I could definitely use someone to speak with about good and bad strategies for financing. I am hoping that working with a mentor will also help me to build my confidence in the areas of estimating how much to charge clients for my services, and with confidence in marketing myself.
