What I need help with

My background as an entrepreneur

My current challenges

  1. I need to obtain local vendors to provide the pastry items, bread and contents of the paninis.
  2. I need to obtain experience in making expressos and lattes, and to identify the best expresso machine for my cafe.
  3. I need to be able to identify how much to food to order/purchase to start - 1st day, 1st week etc.

Actions I’ve taken so far

  1. I contacted one local place, and was rejected. I have researched another possible vendor who I have not yet contacted for the pastries. My attorney may have a lead on the bread vendor.
  2. I have looked at applying to work at some other cafes, but have not yet applied. I contacted SCCC to see if they had a course, which they do not. I have looked on line about possibly taking a course on line, or going onsite to learn the skills of being a barista. I have also researched expresso machines.
  3. Nothing yet.

My future goals

I have 3 milestones I am looking to achieve: 1. Work with my broker to obtain a lease for the space I have identified for my Cafe. 2. To oversee the work to have the Cafe outfitted for my needs and with my vision for the atmosphere and vibe of the space. 3. To open the doors in June, 2022.

My motivations to work with a mentor

To help fill in the voids for what I do not know about opening and running a Cafe. I do not have direct experience in running a Cafe and retail shop; however, I do have significant experience to cover the fundamentals of running a business. I am very interested in gaining as much insight to minimize the bumps and to be successful for the long-term

About my venture

Cafe Positivity

I am opening a cafe which will offer quality coffees, teas and smoothies along with paninis sandwiches and other pastry items. Operating hours will be 7 days a week and cover breakfast and lunch. In addition, there will be a small retail area. The name is Cafe Positivity - and this theme is very importance and will be infused throughout the space and in the products sold.

Countries of operation: United States of America
