Program Update

Mentees and Mentors,

We appreciate your interest in mentorship. Please be advised that after March 31, 2024, the Business Mentor NY Program will cease to operate. However, you can continue to access mentoring services by contacting Entrepreneurship Assistance Centers in your area at esd.ny.gov/eac-directory to obtain one-on-one counseling with your current business idea or small business.

If you would like to continue offering pro bono mentoring services to entrepreneurs or small business owners, please email us at nylovessmbiz@esd.ny.gov with your core business skills, experience or education and your preferred service area.

What I need help with

My background as an entrepreneur

My current challenges

Revenue deficit is our biggest challenge at this point. It seems when things start to get better the proverbial SH*T hits the fan. 911, the 08 recession and COVID have created serious financial challenges. On top of this we lack any Marketing skills. Our space is uninviting. It looks non professional and run down. It is by no means a glamorous industrie but I would like the space to be updated and more efficient.

Actions I’ve taken so far

Very little. Money has always been an issue.

My future goals

Make money. Not live Job to Job. Have competent employees.

My motivations to work with a mentor

To help secure a future for our business and have a retirement plan in place.
