We appreciate your interest in mentorship. Please be advised that after March 31, 2024, the Business Mentor NY Program will cease to operate. However, you can continue to access mentoring services by contacting Entrepreneurship Assistance Centers in your area at esd.ny.gov/eac-directory to obtain one-on-one counseling with your current business idea or small business.
If you would like to continue offering pro bono mentoring services to entrepreneurs or small business owners, please email us at nylovessmbiz@esd.ny.gov with your core business skills, experience or education and your preferred service area.
I have been trying to find space in the area - Brooklyn/Queens NY and it is very hard. In addition, I am trying to implement an online presence that I am not too familiar with.
Actions I’ve taken so far
I have already built out 80% of the menu and found a chef. I have also built a logo. I am going to start to build the website. In terms of space I have reached out to brokers, I have reached out to restaurants selling their businesses, and also reached out to hotels but have not heard back from anyone yet. It is my biggest obstacle at the moment.
My future goals
I would like to break even by the end of the year and but at least $100+ profitable.
My motivations to work with a mentor
I hope my mentor can help me find space and think through a successful marketing strategy.
About my venture
Aura Kitchen
I am working on a food venture. My family owns a restaurant and catering hall in Long Island, NY providing the neighboring area with North Indian food. I am working on a food venture to expand my family's business, specifically via a ghost/cloud kitchen model. For those that are unaware of the model it is a delivery only restaurant that only exists online via the delivery platforms (Uber Eats, etc).
